Accessibility

Access for every visitor.

The redesign is built with semantic structure, keyboard navigation, visible focus, responsive layouts and reduced-motion support.

Our aim

The campaign aims to make its website usable by people with a broad range of abilities, devices and assistive technologies, and to work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Features in this redesign

  • A skip link and logical heading structure.
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and forms.
  • High-contrast text and visible focus indicators.
  • Descriptive image alternatives and decorative-image handling.
  • Responsive layouts that support zoom and small screens.
  • Reduced-motion support for visitors who request it.
  • Form labels, instructions, error messaging and data-minimization guidance.
  • Print styles for readable offline copies.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time checklist. New events, videos, PDFs and campaign materials should be reviewed before publication. Videos should include accurate captions, meaningful audio description when needed, and accessible transcripts. PDFs should be tagged and tested.

Request assistance or report a barrier

Call 763-229-1931 or use the contact form and choose “Accessibility request.” Please describe the page, task and assistive technology involved so the campaign can investigate.

Production step: Run manual keyboard, screen-reader and zoom testing after the site is deployed, after third-party forms or videos are added, and whenever major content changes.
